When the next-gen iPhone appeared on Gizmodo's site in mid-April, Steve Jobs himself called Gizmodo editor Brian Lam to ask for the device back. Brian Lam soon emailed Jobs saying that Gizmodo would only return it if Apple made a formal request. Why? Simple. For more web traffic.
