Boston (dbTechno) - The Apple iPhone still stands above the rest of the pack when it comes to touch-screen phones. The iPhone set the bar extremely high, making it near impossible for anyone to beat it, until now. HTC has introduced the Touch Diamond phone, which will be powered by Windows Mobile 6.1, to try and overthrow the iPhone.

In February, AT&T said it expected to deliver 3G services to some 350 leading U.S. markets before the end of 2008, including all of the top 100 U.S. cities (link). Owners of 3G iPhone in the other U.S. markets will have to make do with EDGE ? or whatever stray Wi-Fi signals they manage to pick up.

Philips Xenium X-Connect has a 3 inch touch screen and there is no keyboard, which makes it similar to Apple iPhone. Reported that this model will support 3G-network standards UMTS and HSDPA.

According to ZDNet.de, Intel Manager Hannes Schwaderer confirmed that Apple would be using the Intel Atom processor in a future version of the iPhone. The new model will reportedly be a larger model with a 720x480 pixel display, correlating with circulating rumors about a mini-tablet device rumored...
