Synchronoss makes the activation magic happen for the iPhone, as well as a lot of other gadgets. But the millions of unlocked iPhones floating around have cost them a quarter of their revenue and has nuked their stock value by nearly half, so unlocked iPhones are basically killing the company.

In a few weeks, SDK for the iPhone and iPod touch will be released. Over 100000 folk have downloaded the beta release. That means we'll see lots of new applications for the iphone/iPod touch. What this means is that smartphone/portable media player/PDA market will become a whole lot more interesting.
