Those of us in the US are still locked into a contract with at&t, but if you live in the UK apple is now letting you purhcase without an O2 contract. The 8GB is selling at $506USD (342.50) and 16GB at $578USD (391.45) which can be seen on the apple UK webstore. These amounts include the VAT tax.
