The game of musical chairs continues this week in CIS mens hockey. J.J. Watt Texans Jersey . For the fourth time in as many national polls released this season, a new team sits in the drivers seat. The University of Saskatchewan Huskies (7-1-0) are the new team to beat according to the 17-member media panel. The Huskies, who occupied the second spot a week ago, received 15 first-place votes and 159 points in the new poll to merit No. 1 status for the first time since the 2005-06 campaign, when they topped 10 consecutive rankings from early November to late January. The UNB Varsity Reds, Alberta Golden Bears, and UNB again had previously been ranked No. 1 this fall. The remaining first-place nods this week went to the surprising Toronto Varsity Blues (5-0-1), who make their first Top 10 appearance since 2003-04, in ninth place. The Blues were also ranked ninth on March 16, 2004. Rounding out the new Top 10 are the No. 2 Alberta Golden Bears (5-3-0), up two positions; No. 3 Moncton Aigles Bleus (4-1-1), up three; No. 4 UNB Varsity Reds (4-2-0), down three; No. 5 UQTR Patriotes (5-2-0), down a pair; No. 6 Acadia Axemen (4-2-0), up one; No. 7 StFX X-Men (4-2-0), down two; No. 8 Lakehead Thunderwolves (5-2-1), the only team to stay put this week; and No. 10 Calgary Dinos (5-3-0), down one. Saskatchewan, Alberta and Moncton all went 2-for-2 in the last seven days. The Huskies travelled to Vancouver and swept a two-game set against UBC, 5-4 and 5-1. The Bears were also on the road this past weekend and dominated Lethbridge 7-1 and 10-3. The Aigles Bleus beat Saint Marys 7-2 and StFX 4-2 on home ice. Meanwhile, UNB suffered its second loss of the young season on Friday night, dropping a 4-2 decision at Acadia. The V-Reds rebounded the next night with a 4-2 win at Dalhousie. Top-10 battles to keep an eye on this weekend include No. 7 StFX at No. 4 UNB on Friday, and No. 3 Moncton at No. 6 Acadia on Saturday. Top-ranked Saskatchewan enjoys a break in its Canada West schedule this week. Brian Cushing Red Jersey . Their discipline was not very good, either. Fabian Castillo and second-half substitute Jonathan Top scored five minutes apart to give FC Dallas a 2-0 victory over the Whitecaps in a foul-plagued MLS game before a crowd of 19,006 at B. Arian Foster Limited Jersey . Molinari revealed after finishing with a share of 11th place in Sundays Andalucian Open, that he has been carrying the injury for some four years. http://www.shoptexansfans.com/brian-cushing-jersey . But it was Utahs "small" lineup that delivered the knockout blow in the second quarter, with the Jazz hitting five 3-pointers in a 3 1/2-minute span to set the tone in a 131-99 rout of the Toronto Raptors on Friday night. J.J. Watt Authentic Jersey . "Its a paycheque," Rolen said, scooping up the paper. "They handed me this when I came in. What a good day!" For the Reds, that was an understatement. Brian Cushing Texans Jersey . In Tuesday nights 7-2 loss, Travis Snider and J.P. Arencibia each hit solo homers for the Blue Jays, who were coming off a three-game road sweep of Boston over the weekend. Starting pitcher Brett Cecil was solid in a tough-luck defeat, permitting just two runs and fanning eight batters over the first six innings. LOS ANGELES -- By the time Dwight Howard stepped back and oh-so-coolly hit just the second 3-pointer of his entire career in the closing seconds, it didnt even seem weird to the Los Angeles Lakers. With so many unlikely numbers in improbable places on that bulging scoresheet, what was one last long-distance shot for a team that finally discovered its elusive rhythm? Antawn Jamison scored 33 points while leading an outstanding game by the Lakers reserves, and Howard had 28 points and 20 rebounds before hitting Los Angeles 17th 3-pointer to close a 122-103 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. Jodie Meeks scored 21 points on a career high-tying seven 3-pointers for the Lakers, who improved to 3-3 under Mike DAntoni while playing at the furious tempo favoured by their new coach. After managing just 77 points against Indiana three nights earlier in their third loss in four games, the Lakers dazzling offensive display suggested DAntoni is making progress after all. "Its the way we want to play," DAntoni said. "Weve got a lot of talent out there, and its got to mesh, and the ball has got to move. ... So many guys had good games. I just thought the ball was moving better -- just a lot of good things happening." Kobe Bryant had 14 points and eight assists for the Lakers, who moved the ball to the tune of 33 assists while making 54 per cent of their shots. They also tied the club record for 3-pointers in a regulation game, getting five from Jamison in the first 30-point game by a Lakers reserve since Shaquille ONeal did it in 1998. Jamison, the high-scoring veteran who signed with Los Angeles for a shot at a title, found the shooting stroke he has lacked for much of the season so far, going 13 for 19 and grabbing 12 rebounds while taking more shots than Bryant or Howard. "Give me some minutes, and I can make something happen," Jamison said. "I was just able to feed off those guys looking for me. Once I do that, I get into a rhythm, and from there, they dont know what to do." The Lakers bench has been unimpressive for two straight seasons, but Jamison and Meeks shot exceptionally well against Denver, while Chris Duhon had a strong playmaking game with eight assists and five points. After the Lakers reserves managed just five points in that ugly loss to the Pacers, they produced 61 points against Denver. Meeks and Jamison talked before the game about their meagre production this season, noting neither had played a particularly strong game at home. "I had some big gaames in college, but not too many games where I only missed two shots," said Meeks, who went 7 for 9 overall and missed just one of his eight 3-point attempts. Glover Quin Womens Jersey. "I think everybody is more confident now. Were at .500, so weve got to get over .500 and keep rolling." Danilo Gallinari scored 19 points and Andre Iguodala added 14 for the Nuggets, who lost three times on their three-game trip. "After we saw what happened to them in that Indiana game, as coaches, we said: Wow, now weve got to play them after they played so poorly against Indiana," Denver coach George Karl said. "I thought we fought up to a degree, but when they got it back up to 20, our gas tank was pretty empty." Los Angeles led 71-57 at halftime, making 60 per cent of its shots in an impressive stretch of offensive basketball. Howard controlled the first quarter with 16 points and five rebounds, while Meeks put on a shooting clinic in the second quarter, draining his first five 3-point attempts to match his highest-scoring game in his first season with Los Angeles. "You know theyre an up-tempo team, so we had to come out with energy, but we just didnt match their energy," said Andre Miller, who had 10 points. "Their bench had a good game and did what they were supposed to do. They hit a lot of 3-pointers and just took off from there." Jamison and Meeks led a strong start to the fourth quarter while three Lakers starters rested. Jamison hit the Lakers 16th 3-pointer with 6:51 to play, and the Lakers rolled to the win capped by Howards improbable 3. "He shoots as many 3s after practice as a lot of us, and hes confident," Jamison said. "You know Dwight. Hes going to take it." The clubs met for the first time since the Lakers eliminated Denver in the first round of last seasons playoffs despite a lively effort by the Nuggets, who fought off elimination twice before Los Angeles won a thrilling Game 7 at home. NOTES: Jamison and Meeks were the first Lakers reserves to score 20 points apiece since Bryant and Nick Van Exel did it in April 1998. ... The Lakers finish their final multigame homestand before Christmas against Orlando on Sunday night. Los Angeles will have played 12 of its first 17 games at Staples Center, plowing through more than a quarter of their entire home schedule in the seasons opening five weeks, before playing nine of its next 12 on the road. ... Mark Wahlberg, Jeremy Piven and the Red Hot Chili Peppers Flea and Chad Smith attended the game. ' ' '
