Apple announced today that AT&T would be subsidizing the 3G iPhone. This demonstrates Apple's strategy to successfully take away power from the carriers and leverage them to distribute their product on a mass scale. But the true genius may be in getting a critical mass of users accustomed to the next frontier of computing, the touch interface.
