According to AT&T's own website, their Early Termination Fee of $175 DOESN'T APPLY until 30 days after activation. Therefore, even if they make you you sign up for service at the store, you can take your $199 iPhone 3G home, immediately cancel the service, and proceed with whatever unlocking method the ubergeeks come up with. You're welcome.
